Pain Management Massage

I focus on the muscles that are causing pain and dysfunction in the body.  I then use
Neuromuscular work  (trigger point therapy, a hyper irritable spot that is applied with
compression) with Myofascial Release (gentle stretching of the tissues to release
adhesions), to relieve a specific pain pattern, caused by hyper irritable spot within taut
muscles and fascia.  We then use the stretching
technique of a PNF stretch to take the muscle
to its new length, thus giving you more
flexibility.
Swedish

I incorporate the use of long gliding stroke,
complimented with gentle kneading, vibration,
tapotement and friction that aid in preparing
the soft tissue for deeper strokes.

Catering to the need of the client I also
combine the use of Reflexology, Neuromuscular,
Myofascial Release, Lymph Drainage and PNF
Stretches  to give the ultimate Swedish Massage
that you will remember forever.

Swedish massage is known for improving
circulation, relieving muscle tension and
promoting relaxation, just to name a few.

Hot Stone Spa

With the use of warmed Basalt Stones (lava stones that have been naturally smoothed and hand pick for there
size) that are heated to a temperature of 120 degrees so when they are placed gently on the tissues it give a
warming effect that sedates the body, mind and muscles.  With the preparation of the tissues it become easy to
glide the stones against the tissues so I can get deeper into the muscle to relieve stress, pressure points or to go
into a state of deepening relaxation.

Hot Stone is perfect for those who have Fibromylgia, poor circulation or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome among many
more benefits.
           Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a gentle and mild stretching of the body tissues that can
have a profound effect. The tissues that is being stretched is the fascia network
also called connective tissue.  This tissue surrounds every tissue, organ, nerves,
muscle  and bones in the body.  It is considered to be a continuous laminated
sheet that goes on without interruption.  When this tissues is damaged (from
injury, inflammation, disease, surgery, etc.) it scars and hardens
that can place tension and pain/sensitvity on the structure and cause
pain/sensitivity in other parts of the body.

What I do to release the fascia is keep a gentle pressure and stretch to the
muscle tissue until the tissue relaxes it may take several sessions to get the
tissue to relax.  The hold may take several minutes to get the tissue to relax,  we
never want to go to fast or release the hold to fast, that is why it is so gentle to
receive Myofascial Release.

You may feel the results quickly or it may take a day or two to settle in.  I
recommend drinking plenty of water and stretching to prolong the massage.
This is located at Mesa Creative Arts Center for my clients in the Hanover Washington, Beaver and
Allegheny County.
